Behavior Specialist: Shirey, Sara

Hi, my name is Sara Shirey, and I am the Behavior Specialist at GAP. In my role, I help assist students with completing their credit recovery and intervention courses, as well as assisting with the facilitation of electives.

Over the last 15 years, I have worked with at-risk students in a variety of setting from traditional campus special education, to residential treatment, CPS facilities, and transitional living homes. 

In my spare time, well, all the time I'm not at the GAP, I'm a mother to a wonderful son and daughter in-law who are my pride and joy. I am also a dog mom and a chicken mom ( I have 26!!!). I love my little chicks and the eggs that come with them!

I am looking forward to this year at GAP and working with your students.

Hola, me llamo Sara Shirey y soy la Especialista en Conducta de GAP. En mi puesto, ayudo a los estudiantes a completar sus cursos de recuperación de créditos e intervención, además de facilitar asignaturas optativas.

Durante los últimos 15 años, he trabajado con estudiantes en riesgo en diversos entornos, desde educación especial tradicional en el campus hasta tratamiento residencial, centros de CPS y hogares de transición.

En mi tiempo libre, bueno, siempre que no estoy en GAP, soy madre de un hijo y una nuera maravillosos que son mi orgullo. También soy mamá de perros y gallinas (¡tengo 26!). ¡Me encantan mis pollitos y los huevos que traen!

Tengo muchas ganas de empezar este año en GAP y de trabajar con sus estudiante.
