Hi, I am Matthew Chen Blackshaw and I am originally from the Washington DC area.

I chose to move to Central Texas because I heard the weather was nice, and the people were even nicer.  

I have been working with children for 15 years. It started with me coaching middle school basketball in high school, and working at my high school's basketball camp.

In college, I spent summers overseas in Ecuador and Haiti teaching English, dance, taekwondo, and chess.

During the school year, I was a youth pastor and worked at a tennis center.

After college graduation, I began working as a middle school health and physical education teacher and have been working as a Physical Education teacher ever since.

I chose GAP after experiencing the wonderful community during my interview and it being so close to my home.

I have two rescue dogs named Pumpkin and Rider who keep me very occupied.
